Studies show advantages of treating Lenke 5C AIS with posterior arthrodesis

The classic treatment for patients with Lenke 5C thoracolumbar/lumbar adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is no longer the best acceptable treatment option, according to results of a recent study.
Investigators from the United Kingdom found posterior spine fusion with pedicle screw instrumentation was effective in their study of 72 patients who had 2 years follow-up and 80% mean curve correction.
